Hawke's Bay
Te Awa, Hawke's Bay
Te Awa means River of God in Maori, a reference to the subterranean streams which run under the estate. This particular geology gives a patchwork effect of soil types throughout the 43 hectares. Such diversity gives balanced wines that are rich in character and complexity.

Sauvignon Blanc 2007
A distinctive wine with classic Sauvignon freshness given depth and richness by a lick of new oak. The finish shows admirable persistence.
Chardonnay 2005
The nose shows complex aromas of citrus rind, peach and grilled almonds. The palate is silky with concentrated stone fruits and elegant thanks to its refreshing acidity. Fine structure and lingering finish.
Red
Merlot 2004
Well-balanced with concentrated but restrained flavours and fine tannins. This wine displays the classic merlot cherry, plum and chocolate flavours.
Cabernet/Merlot 2004
Dense wine with dark berry fruit, mineral, tobacco and cedar notes. The tannins give good structure and depth.
Syrah 2006
Very aromatic with notes of sweet red fruit, ground pepper and warm spice. The palate is velvety with vibrant flavours and finely integrated tannins.
Boundary 2002
Intertwined aromas of fresh leather, dark cherry, bramble and plum on the nose. The multilayered palate shows excellent fruit intensity and integrated tannins. The finish is long and harmonious.
