Pasetti, Montepulciano d'Abruzzo
The Pasetti Domaine is steeped in history - the Pescosansonesco vineyard is on the site of an ancient Roman garrison at the foot of the Gran Sasso massif, at 500 m above sea level. The wide diurnal range (hot during the day and cold at night) gives wines that have both richness and acidity.

Marches
Colle Stefano, Verdicchio di Matelica
This organic domaine is situated in a hilly belt in the hinterland of the Marches, 420 m above sea-level.The region is characterized by a cold, dry microclimate with a wide diurnal range is ideal for the growing of Verdicchio di Matelica.

Fresh and aromatic with lively acidity and a herbaceous finish. The palate has lovely nutty character.
Piedmont
Conti di Buscareto, Ostra
Conti di Buscareto own 70ha of vineyards and half of these are dedicated to Marche's most famous grape the Verdicchio. The vines are very old and are planted in the renowned area of Ripalto, but the winemaking is state-of-the-art.

Verdicchio dei Casteli di Jesi 2006
Honeysuckle aromas, stewed-apple fruit with that typical Verdicchio nutty character and notes of saline on the finish.
Piero Busso, Nieve
This small winery was established in the heart of the Langhe in 1953 by Guido Busso. Piero now runs the estate with the help of his wife Lucia, his son Pierguido and his daughter Emanuela. His wines are from the new school of Barbaresco - ripe and opulent with a lick of new oak.

The most forward of Busso's single vineyard Barbaresco's. The nose shows complex olive and tar aromas. The palate is rich with unctuous damson fruit allied to velvety tannins.

Perfumed with complex floral and leather aromas. The palate is elegant with mineral structure and good length.
Barbaresco San Stefanetto 2001
The keeper of the bunch. Closed but showing amazing potential with dense fruit, fine structure and intensity.
Barbaresco Gallina 2001
Complex wine with classic Nebbiolo aromas of tar and roses on the nose. The palate is fleshy with ripe fruit, fine tannic structure and good persistence on the finish.
Attilio Ghisolfi, Bussia
The art of vine-growing has been passed down through more than three generations on this family-run farm, though the Ghisolfis have only been bottling and marketing their own wines since 1988. Dolcetto, Barbera and Nebbiolo are grown on 15 of the estate’s 20 hectares, with small quantities of Freisa and Pinot Noir.

Paolo Scavino, Piedmont
Forward thinking Enrico Scavino is partly responsible for the great reputation Piedmont enjoys today. Since the 1980s he has been crafting distinctive, modern Barolos which have promoted his estate into the super league. Enrico uses the latest techniques to enhance (rather than shroud) the character and typicity of his wines.

Tuscany
Salicutti, Brunello di Montalcino
The olive groves and vineyards of Podere Salicutti form a natural amphitheatre overlooking the spectacular Orcia valley. The estate is owned and run by hands on Francesco Leanza who oversees everything. He farms organically 'with respect for the environment and the consumer'.

Savoury wine with notes of cherry and herb on the nose. The palate is nicely balanced with rich black fruit and supple tannins. Good finish.

Powerful wine with creamy morello cherry fruit aromas on the nose and a lovely savoury character on the palate. Long, complex finish.

A very impressive showing from an excellent vintage. Well articulated nuances of ripe fruit, earthiness and tobacco with great length on the palate.

Coffele, Soave
The Coffele estate was born in 1971, a product of the marriage between Giovanna Visco and Giuseppe Coffele, bringing the Visco family back into Soave winemaking after 30 years. The vineyards are in the hilly heart of the classico zone whilst the grapes are vinified in the historic town centre of Soave.
