Constantia

Constantia Glen, Constantia

Boutique 60 ha winery situated in the stunning Glen Alpine. No expense is spared in the vineyard and they are the proud owners of a brand new gravity fed winery. The wine really is something special - the first two vintages of Sauvignon Blanc were received with great aclaim and the 2007 is set to follow suit.

White

Sauvignon Blanc 2007

A fuller style of Sauvignon with gooseberry notes and grassy aromas. The power of the fruit is perfectly balanced by the acidity resulting in extraordinary complexity.

Constantia Uitsig, Constantia

Purchased in 1988 by David and Marlene McCay, the Uitsig estate has been completely restored and with 40 ha now under vine. The vineyards are in Constantia's cool-climate heartland and therefore the wines show excellent restraint and freshness.

White

Constantia Uitsig Unwooded Chardonnay 2007

An unwooded Chardonnay - pure, powerful yet well balanced and fresh.

Sauvignon Blanc 2007

Wonderfully restrained and mineral driven with hints of gooseberry and fresh acidity.

Red

Constantia Uitsig Red 2004

Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and a hint of Cabernet Franc. Plummy red fruits on the nose but elegantly restrained on the palate with hints of pencil box on the finish.

Stellenbosch

Kleinood, Stellenbosch

Kleinood is a tiny farm just outside Stellenbosch in the Blauklippen Valley. Kleinood in Afrikaans means something small and precious that you keep close to your heart. They concentrate on Shiraz and the tiny yields give astonishing results. This wine is certainly precious but small it certainly is not. Keep a glass close at hand.

Red

Tamboerskloof Syrah 2005

An aroma of black cherries and plums. A well balanced wine with good structure, firm tannins and well integrated wood. Hints of blueberry and chocolate on the finish.
